Speaker: Dr. Erich Kasten
(Foundation for Siberian Cultures, Fuerstenberg/Havel)

This lecture will address strategies that may contribute to preserve endangered languages in Kamchatka, and the traditional knowledge of its indigenous peoples, the Itelmens, Evens, and Koryaks. Examples are given, even in form of video clips, from earlier fieldwork experiences since the mid-1990s and on learning tools that have been produced since then in collaboration with local experts.
