On November 20th, Prof. Dr. Axel Klein from the University of Duisburg-Essen (hereafter UDE) visited Hokkaido University’s Graduate School of Letters and met with students who are interested in studying at UDE.
During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Klein not only gave the students advice about classes and applying for UDE, but also explained about the student support systems such as the “buddy system” (a system that partners one UDE student with each foreign student) and the dormitory system. At first, the students were slightly nervous, but Prof. Dr. Klein’s friendly manner and easy conversation melted the their tension and they relaxed as they listened to him.
A former student of UDE, Ms. Etsuko Nakano (Research Management Office) also sat in on the session and gave the students advice from her own experience.
