SAZAKI Ai Lecturer
Research Subject

Contemporary transformations in religious practice, rituals and commemorative practices surrounding the dead, material religion, and minority religious survival strategies, among other topics. More specifically, commemorative practices for the dead within Christianity in Japan — with a particular focus on the Orthodox Church in Japan — as well as a material religion approach to the objects that constitute spaces of memorial for the deceased.
