内容紹介

国際教父学会（International Association of Patristic Studies）創立50周年を記念して2013年にエルサレムで行なわれた国際学会の会議録。世界の各地域での教父研究（patristic studies）の概況について論じた論考のほかに、教父学をめぐる様々な問題について論じた論考を収録。

著者からのコメント

私（戸田）自身は東アジアの教父研究について報告するのが本来の責務でしたが、言語的な問題等々からほぼもっぱら日本の研究状況についてのみ論じることとなってしまい、その意味で、発表した論考は必ずしも満足の行くものとは言えません（遠からず何らかの仕方で補遺を行ないたいと考えてもいます）。ですが、他の論考も合わせて読めば、教父研究の世界的な広がりの一翼として日本人による研究もあるということがわかる本になっている、と言えるのではないでしょうか。
