2016年9月に南アフリカ・ステレンボス(Stellenbosch)で開催されたギリシア語旧約聖書研究国際学会(International Organization for Septuagint and Cognate Studies, IOSCS)の大会での研究発表を収録したもの(いわゆるProceedings)。

この学会へはこの2016年の大会が初参加でした。欧米で開催される時には大勢の参加者が集まるようですが、やはり南アフリカは欧米からも遠いらしく(まして日本からは地球の裏側!)、そのため書物としてのProceedingsもこの学会のものとしてはやや小ぶりになったようです。私自身の発表は期せずしてこの研究分野のホットトピックの1つを扱ったようで、聴衆はごく少数でしたがいくつも質問が出され、少々(相当)面喰らったのを覚えています。この学会に参加し続けるためにはヘブル語(及びアラム語)の知識が不可欠であり、この先が思いやられます(もちろん、或る意味では楽しみが増えたとも言えますが)。
